Super Malawi Haze is 90 % sativa and 10 % indica. With this variety, Ace continued to research and expand the best possible genetic combinations between various premium Haze lines and the best parent plants of the powerful Malawi Sativa.
Super Malawi Haze is a direct cross of a Neville's Haze mother plant, selected by Neville himself in the early 90's, with the best Malawi Killer phenotypes. The result is an extremely vigorous and highly productive super-hybrid of virtually pure Sativa genetics, producing huge and very resinous colas with outstanding density and large flower-to-leaf ratios that coalesce into enormous flower structures that reach monumental proportions.
The terpenes of the pure Haze A and C parents that make up Neville's Haze are dominant in this hybrid: sweet and floral flavours of Central American sativa, smoky and woody flavours of classic Haze, with the resinous and fermented background of Malawi to add depth.
While both Super Malawi Haze and Purple Haze x Malawi offer the most cerebral, energetic and least narcotic effects within the Haze/Malawi genotypes, Purple Haze x Malawi is a true F1 hybrid and therefore much more uniform, producing a unique main phenotype with much wilder and tropical behaviour, However, with Super Malawi Haze we have focussed on creating a much more vigorous, tamed and productive hybrid that is more resinous, has higher THC and terpene levels, is more adaptable to indoor growing and has a shorter flowering time than Purple Haze x Malawi. However, as Super Malawi Haze is a polyhybrid, it is more variable, three main phenotypes are found in this variety, the first two being the most common:
Neville's Haze Pheno: A very consistent phenotype that combines the best characteristics of the tamed Haze and the "pumped full of steroids" characteristics of the original Neville's Haze mother: tall, super-strong plants with enormous yields that produce very dense and resinous flowers, with an excellent flower-to-leaf ratio and a moderate/long flowering time. It is easily recognisable by its long reddish-orange pistils, characteristic of Central American sativas, and its distinctive profile of sweet, floral and smoky old Haze terpenes. Flowering time: 85-90 days.
Malawi Pheno: This more African phenotype is also easy to recognise as it matures with the characteristic golden/silvery appearance of Malawi. Its enormous vigour and amazing production of dense, resinous buds with very few leaves are comparable to the Neville's Haze phenotype. The oily, resinous and woody flavours are typical of the nastiest Malawi Killer phenotypes. Flowering time: about 85 days.
Almost pure Haze pheno: This is the most variable and least common phenotype (less than 10%), with a very tall and sluggish tropical sativa structure, less productive and resinous, and with a longer flowering time than the two main phenotypes described previously. This phenotype could be of great interest to those looking for the wildest Haze expressions (almost like Oldtimer's Haze), as well as some very interesting genetic recombinations of almost pure Haze from Haze males A and C. Flowering time: 90-120 days.
With these new projects, Ace wants to try to raise the bar for Sativa-Haze breeding by crossing these old Dutch Haze elite clones with elite parents with the most bred Sativa varieties.
The growth of Super Malawi Haze
This plant is a large sativa, very vigorous and branchy, which requires a lot of space. It can be grown indoors with strong light intensity and with enough space for its development. It is recommended to start flowering after 15 days from seed or from clones that have been rooted for at least 7 days. A photoperiod of 11 (light)/13 (dark) for flowering indoors to encourage flowering and avoid re-flowering or excessive stretching in early flowering is also recommended. It is very suitable for SOG crops due to its high yield in the main cola or for SCROG, horizontal or network cultivation due to its excellent yield in the side branches and its vigorous response to pruning.
Outdoors, it is particularly suitable for cultivation in tropical or subtropical climates, although it can also be grown in warm coastal climates with mild autumns (similar to the Mediterranean) up to latitudes close to 43º with very good results.
Provide your plant with a high nutrient content throughout the cycle.
The effect of Super Malawi Haze
This lady offers you a highly potent, cerebral, creative and energetic effect of great quality, duration and complexity, stimulating both physical activity and deep psychological self-reflection.
The smell and flavour of Super Malawi Haze
It has sweet and floral terpenes of Central American Sativa, smoky and woody notes of pure Haze, with the resinous and fermented background of Malawi, which gives it a certain depth and density.
Terpene profile
Contains mainly the following monoterpenes: high amounts of beta-pinene, followed by moderate amounts of alpha-pinene, beta-myrcene and limonene, small amounts of beta-ocimene, linalool and traces of isopulegol, camphene, eucalyptol, terpinolene, gamma-terpinene and delta-3-carene. Sesquiterpenes: high amounts of beta-caryophyllene and alpha-humelene, followed by moderate amounts of guaiol and traces of bisabolol, trans-nerolidol and caryophyllene oxide.
